Internal Oak Doors
Good Brothers specialise in handmade internal solid oak doors.
All of our doors are made to order and can be supplied in standard sizes, or any size to suit your property. Making the doors to order means that if you have a non-standard size all the ledges are placed in proportion, avoiding the obvious ‘cut down’ look.
Our doors are made from random width tongue and groove oak planks, they have a bead mould on the front and a slight bevel on the back of each board. They will also usually, have 3 ledges on the reverse which are chamfered. The doors are screwed and pelleted together.
Rose head nails can be fitted to the face of the boards for decoration. These are optional, at an additional charge.
We are able to supply the doors in either character or rustic grade oak.
Character grade is our most popular choice for internal doors. You will see varied grain and colour variation, with knots up to 3cm.
Rustic grade will have larger knots, and shows more variation of grain and colour.
We are able to supply our oak doors in kit form. These consist of random width t&g boards with bead mould, and enough ledge material to complete your door. The kits will need to be cut to length and width on site. They are supplied without screws or ironmongery.
All of our doors are supplied unfinished for you to treat with whichever product you prefer. We recommend Osmo polyx oil, for a light and natural finish.
We are also able to supply ironmongery for your new doors. We would recommend a pair of 18 inch hinges and a traditional style thumblatch. We are stockists of the ‘From the Anvil’ range. Hinges and thumblatches are available in the traditional beeswax black finish, but we would also recommend the new pewter finish, which looks especially good with our oak doors. View ironmongery »
